FINISHED!

Today I finished the landscaping job in Long Beach on the Tropicals. We all felt so good after as the final result was stunning. I look forward to returning in a couple of weeks to see how everything fills out.

This was the most difficult landscaping job I have ever experienced. The challenge with the invasive roots was indescribable. Digging under these conditions is not only taxing but emotionally draining. You would dig for ten minutes only to get down a couple of inches. When you are planting 15 gallon plants that is discouraging. It's like digging through roots and very little dirt. But with the right tools (most of them ended up broken) and the will power we made it through. I am so proud of my gang that helped me out with this project. Most of all Curtis! He was the trooper that went with me week after week. I can not thank him enough.

In the end it was all worth it, the homeowners are happy and that makes me happy. Every drop of sweat, blister and ROOT was worth this end result! The pictures say it all.

Welcome Home Hero!

My sons godfather John came home from Iraq. He is only home for three weeks and will have to go back for nine months. John is in the Army, he is a medic and we are very proud of him. It took my son a little time to warm up to his godfather since he is only 2. Once he did they were two peas in a pod!

I am keeping busy with the new business. I have tons of holiday decor shipments comeing in and I cant wait for the next big sale. Stay tuned for dates!

Big Stuff Going On....

The company that I worked at for almost 4 years shut down over a week ago. I had already started my landscaping business on the side and see this as a blessing since I now can devote all of my time to the business of my dreams.

I have only been away from my "desk job" for a week and a half and boy I have learned a lot. Days go by faster when your out and about. I love it though. I have had the joy of spending time with my 7 year old daughter. She is such a great kid. I have been taking her with me to the nurseries and growers. She never complained about being out in the hot sun walking about acres of plants and flowers. I have a feeling my love of plants and gardens comes natural with her.

I had my big open house last Saturday! It was a huge turnout and success. Everyone is asking about when the next one is, stay tuned. Sadie Olive and I are working on the next dates. With the holidays around the corner we are gearing up for all the big shows and sales. I want to thank everyone for their support, it is very inspiring.

I have been working on a tropical landscape in Long Beach. It has been hard work but I am going to love the end result. It will all be worth it. Stay tuned, I will post the final photos when I am done.

Thanks again everyone for your support, I means the world to me!

Getting ready for the BIG OPEN HOUSE! August 25th!

I am so excited for the upcoming Open House. I have been getting all of my inventory ready, shipments are coming in and I am beyond excited. I have these amazing pots that I have planted rose trees, gardenia trees and flowers at the base. I potted them all this morning to make sure they are perfectly grown in just in time for the big day. It's been really hot here in Orange County so I am keeping a close eye on them. Everyone to make sure they water a little extra right now if you are in CA, I think we have a heat wave coming up and we are at record lows for rain fall so the plants needs an extra drink. Sorry for the short update, I got to get back to work.

Big Shopping Day!

I had a great day shopping at the Orange Circle today. There was a flea market and lot's of great deals. I found two flower frogs that I have been searching for and many other treats. I also found some great plant material to use in my pots I will be selling at the Open House. If you live in Orange County, CA and want to attend the Open House on 8/25/07 just e-mail me at sharon@floralfacelift.com.

I also have been busy with my garden design. May inquiries for the "facelift". If you are interested in a design and you can plant it yourself or if you are local I can do it for you just e-mail me. I will be able to do a landscape design over your digital photo.

Sofia the Ballerina...

I am so proud of my daughter Sofia. She is 7 years old, going into 2nd grade this Sept. She had a big ballet performance this past Saturday. She danced so beautiful. I love to watch the little ones on stage. They are so darn cute. You can't help but smile when you watch them. The mothers of the girls in my daughters ballet class were all so proud. We have watched them practice week after week and seeing them up on the big stage was amazing.

Happy Summer!

I hope everyone had a great 4th! We had so much fun. My 7 year old daughter Sofia was in the Lake Forest parade. My 21 month old Antonio was so excited when he saw his sister pass by. We had the typical BBQ, swimming in the pool and fireworks. The kids slept good that night.

I have been working on Sara at Sadie Olive's garden design. Stay tuned we will be posting the photos when we are complete. She has such a beautiful home so it is a true honor to be working on her backyard.

I have also been busy working on these french vintage journals. They are going to make great gifts, I cant wait to give them away and Sadie Olive is going to have them on her website, so keep an eye out for them. Her website is beautiful and I am so excited! Check it out at http://www.sadieolive.com.

The journals are made with vintage french book pages with vintage french perfume labels. They have lot's of personal touches and you can personalize them.

About Me

Welcome to my site.

I am a garden enthusiast who specializes in residential garden design. I have been gardening for over 25 years. As a small child I loved to garden and came from a long line of dedicated Gardner’s. Growing up in Southern California I have learned a lot about how flowers and plants thrive in our climate.

My goal is to give your garden the facelift of your dreams. Whether you know what you want or simply don’t know what you want I can help. It is my intention to grow with you. If you’re dreaming of an old world Italian garden or a whimsical American garden I will make your dream come true. I will be able to work within your budget and take what you already have and simply make it better, that’s the floral facelift!
